On WYSE site there is a download for a V90LW and a V90LEW.
    Would these be a V90L and a V90LE with windows 7 embedded?
Bios different? I think they want 1.17 bios?

On net somewere I found a IE6 install program but never tried it on a XPe system. It was meant for those who strip things out of windows and later might want to put IE6 back?

    Orig heat sink, large fanless.
V90 series boards are ITX size and mounting match for ITX boards.
Some ITX boards can fit into wyse V90 series cases, you have to watch what is on front of board because of USB, AUDIO board in case. I have a JETWAY board in a V90 case, a very low power VIA micro board with a 800 series chip. Orig V90 has a 400 series chip the V90L, LE has a 700 series chip. The C90LE has a 855 series chip which is a subset of the 800 series the JETWAY board has. So a V90 that could run what the C90LE runs?? naw?

Find a cheap dead V90 on ebay and you would have case and heatsink?

I used a ohm meter to find what pins did what to put jetway into case but did not mark it down because cables had to be extended to fit jetway and connections move around.

I find the 1.8 inch hitachi with 44 pin ide interface easier to fit. Cable can be put on backwards and on a poor supply without shut down blow out the drive.
If drive not formated might not see except in bios?
Have had many OPP systems on these drives inside V90, V90L, V90LE.

From Memory.com I have used the Transcend 1GB 44 pin flash module, they have other sizes. Cost for 1GB only $18.80. I have never tried a push, only a install and a clone.

I dont know if this is what you want but a man on ebay WAS selling V90s that he had changed much. It has IE8, WMP11 and MAGICJACK phone.
This unit is XPE SP2 and on startup goes straight to admin screen never asking for any pass word or even showing the admin, user, password boxes? Its faster than anything WYSE has for the V90?
Not all the wyse stuff is gone but some is.
Only problem I have had with it WAS it would not do MP3 streaming music from Vtuner on the net, it should have but didnt. I found a fix on the net for this that did something to the regestry?

I have a V90 with the newest 627 xpe that I have almost as fast as the magicjack unit . Stripping out much wyse stuff didnt help but installing JAVA did help speed????

While doing all this I keep a DIG image of orig so if I really mess up I can put it back. A digital image not a wyse image, but I have those also.

    EDIT
Sorry Im getting old, didnt see this was all about a S90 not the V90?
Old brain again, somewhere in my mess I have a S90 that like above starts up no password junk because its also a magicjack unit which has to do this so at a power loss would start back up to keep the phone working?

I have the same thing. The v90 boots from more USB sticks then the V90L untill! In bios the hard drive order button, hit that and see if usb is present and what order its in. On the V90L I find it 2nd, change it to 1st, save bios change and reboot. Now for me most USB boot on the V90L.
    I hope this helps?

CAN THAT IMAGE REALLY BE USED ON V90 AND V90L?

    edit
just saw link above, didnt know about the P key?

Way back a Windows FLP was around. It was a cross of XP you find in the V90 and normal XP. It took less ram and HD size to run. It had its own SP3 update and would run most that normal XP ran. It was meant for CORPs that had a large investment in systems that ran 98, 98SE, or ME but were not good enough for normal XP.
Too bad this cant be had, sounds GOOD for some WYSE systems.

I got to use this for a bit in a EBOX 3850, I think it was.
With only 256meg ram, newest Firefox, FOXIT, WINAMP, WINRAR, COMODO, it ran good. I think this was a VIA board also?

Three CAPS on the main board are trying to push out their tops?
On other systems if these are replaced the board may work again.

Anyone had this happen and changed the caps?

When all else fails I have a 256meg and soon a 512meg XPe image on a usb stick that will clone this image into a 9150 no matter what was in the 9150 before, starts at byte 1 of sector 1, boot, mbr, sector.
You need a good unit to steal image from.

In a 9150 I think XPe works good?
A Puppy linux version 4 and up as a retro, 4.1.2 retro, installed as a frugal install in the flash works to include sound.
Tinycore linux installs in a 3150, 5150, but you really need to know linux.

A tool I posted can take the tinycore iso file and make a usb stick with it.
You can make a Puppy usb stick on almost any system.
From the USB you can install to flash on the wyse, all my systems have bios 1.15 so I dont know if any of this works without 1.15?

    edit
DSL works but no sound, again I used iso to usb tool.
