A friend of mine whose business had been using these Wyse WT3125se’s as terminal machines for work purposes had a few of these things in storage, gave me one. After some googling, I discovered that they could be turned into semi-usable linux boxes, maybe basic non flash web surfing/checking email etcetera.
So I followed a guide, used a script (http://www.mowson.org/karl/articles/linux-netxfer/) on my existing ubuntu machine in lieu of tracking down MS Java/running netxfer or setting up a PXE environment and was able to reflash to a more current version of CE I downloaded from Wyse’s archived discontinued product support section.
I have downloaded hacked firmware from this site: http://li-la.de/pub/baldar/Compaq_Evo_T20/Firmwares/ and have attempted to flash to it, but have been unsuccessful.
The terminal hangs on the message “Initializing NAND flash data…” and will not proceed any further.
Does the problem lie with the bootp.bin I am using, or is something else going on here?
