Good afternoon, We have been experiencing several problems with our Vmware view/Wyse Thin clien t implementation. Our current setup is Two Dell Poweredge R900 ESX servers, an EMC AX4-5F SAN, and Wyse V10LE Thin clients. We run vmWare view 4.5+composer. Many of our users connect locally on our network, they experiencing very little problems with the setup. The other half of our users connect from residential sites, using their own independent internet connections. These may be Cox, Comcast, or Qwest. These thin clients initiate a PPTP Connection to our view server which is running Windows Server 08 R2 using Routing and Remote access services. Our Wyse v10LE thin clients are on Firmware version 6.5.
The problems we have are as follows.
1.) At some of our residential sites, the users are disconnected from the RDP session and sent back to the wyse desktop, sometimes able to reconnect to the VM, sometimes not.
2.) Some of the sites experiencing major slow-downs where they’re unable to do anything for several minutes, or the desktop will appear to freeze completely. We’ve verified that it is not the VM’s themselves by logging the users in locally in the office.
3.) Sometimes when trying to log in to their profile they receive a “Network error” from the thin client interface, no further details.
If anyone out there can assist us with this problem it would be immensely helpful as this is becoming quite the plague around the company. Thank you.March 15, 2011 at 5:04 pm #20229Which exact firmware are you running?

Thats what it says anywho.
March 16, 2011 at 10:24 am #20241You should contact Wyse to get 6.5.0_47. This is fixing several disconnect and freeze issues.

March 21, 2011 at 7:23 pm #20266Obtained the 6.5.0_47 release and it has made no improvements.
Is there an alternative to having them connect using a PPTP Connection? I question whether that is the issue.
March 29, 2011 at 9:35 pm #20295I’ve resolved the issues with this, they now connect using the View security server using HTTPS tunnelling. They’re not having issues where printers are no longer working. The following is the Output from Dbgview as one of the clients logs into windows. THe line in question is “The remote PC does not support usb redirection”
Thoughts anyone??

[1092] +__CleanupThread(), TID = 0x00000b3cMarch 31, 2011 at 5:10 pm #20303Looks like you have installed the TCX Suite in your session. And as the View agent has its own USB redirection inbuild, the TCX USB redirection is disabled by default.
