I am configuring a minimalist kiosk for a local NGO of 40 (max) donated reconditioned Wyse S10 thin clients(System Version: 6.3.0_12 & 6.1.XXX) on a single physical server setup (VM as domain-controller & Virtualisation host on Hyper-V).
Good news:-
-I have configured DHCP options 161 [HostServer IP] 162 [HostServer IP]/Wyse.
-I created C:\inetpub\ftproot\Wyse\WNOS\wnos.ini
-Everything pings back (host, VM, clients)
-DHCP populated all settings to clients
-On web browser, https://[VMserver IP]/RDWeb gets me to the RemoteApp and Desktop Connection login page -> published collection pageBad news:-
Client does not connect. Event Log shows:-
-Keyboard & mouse identified
-Certificates installed (8 built-in)
-22: Signon server (http://VMserver.XXX.xx) is not responding
-23: Contacting File Server …
-24: DNS/WINS can’t resolve [wyseftpbc4tc]
-25: Cannotaccess systen profileI hope I included all pertinent info. & I think you can tell I’m not hardcore IT 🙂
May 18, 2016 at 5:09 am #42808CORRECTION:- -I have configured DHCP options 161: [HostServer IP] 162: /
May 18, 2016 at 10:42 am #42810Remove OT 162 and it should work just fine.

May 18, 2016 at 10:49 am #42813I forgot to add last Event Log: Invalid TCX Sound Rich Key
May 18, 2016 at 11:07 am #42814…is “signon server” supposed to be VMserver or Hosy (Remote Desktop Virtualisation Host)???
May 18, 2016 at 3:01 pm #42818What do you see under “System Setup – Central Configuration – Fileserver”?
Could you post your wnos.ini?
Signon server is the defined connection broker and could be either VMware, MS, LDAP, Citrix or any other supported broker.CG
May 18, 2016 at 4:18 pm #42821This is a test script. I still have to use config gen for a proper one, but I do not think it is executing it.
CONNECT=RDP\
Host=Host\
Description=”RDP Server”\
Domainname=”Domain.net”\
Logon_Mode=Prompt\
LocalCopy=no\
Privilage=Low EnablePrinterSettings=Yes HidePPP=Yes\
AutoConnect=yes\
DisableButton=Yes\
Autopower=YesIf you meant the client “System Setup – Servers – Fileserver/Path”:-
[FTP Server IP]/WyseMay 18, 2016 at 4:32 pm #42825So the connection broker(VM) is not responding??? I had firewall turned off/on, no change
May 19, 2016 at 9:02 am #42833Your RDP server is called “Host”????
CG
May 19, 2016 at 10:33 am #42834No, Sorry! I used the FQDN of the Host machine, which is the Virtualisation Host.
I rechecked the FTP Server settings, enabled Anonymous Login, still same, except for getting an “FTP Login” tab with anonymous credentials that wouldn’t disappear on hitting “OK”
May 19, 2016 at 5:35 pm #42836try to login via ftp from a PC. Is this working?
When logged in, type “ls” to see all files and folders. Check in which folder you are.
Let me know.CG
May 20, 2016 at 8:42 am #42841I tried from DOS and got this error :
Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type ‘add’ with unique key attribute ‘name’ set to ‘users, roles, permissions’ respectively set to ‘*, , read, write’
File name \\?\c:\windows\system32\inertsrv\config\applicationhost.config
Line 1071May 20, 2016 at 10:34 am #42842I hacked the applicationHost.config file & found towards the end two lines with these annoying “permissions” entries
and I “commented out the last line, and I was anonymously logged in
I then logged out to this directory:
C:users\administrator.domain.000May 20, 2016 at 10:50 am #42843…false alarm… still not logging. error now is:-
c:> connected to 192.168.18.251
c:> connection closed by remote host -
