I recently deployed a few Wyse C90LE7 thin clients at a remote location and some of the users there have been reporting that the clock keeps changing its time. A few users have also reported that a message pops up near the clock when logging in that mentions something about loading WCM settings. Where is this setting change coming from and how do I prevent the timezone from reverting to the default?
A little background:
Each of the Wyse terminals were created from the same image which has the timezone set to Central Time. The terminals, once deployed, have the FBWF turned on (green status) so that no permanent changes can be made. We do have a vanilla WDM server setup on the network, but I do not see any references to WCM or timezone settings within the WDM configuration.
WCM is the Wyse Configuration Manager. This little SW lets you create XML files with special configuration settings. Those files are then pulled by the client during boot time.
Check the users Control Panel – WCM applet to see what IP is entered there and remove it.
