hello,
does somebody know if i can upgrade a 3235le from ce 2.12 to ce .net 4.x or ce 5.0 without anny issues, i.e. will i need any license code for this or will there be any other limitation?
at http://www.wyse.com/serviceandsupport/support/dlOraFW.asp?which=27&model=3235LE i can download .net 4.x or 5.0 update.
i can get a bunch of 3235le winterms, with 32mb flash and 64mb ram, so they at least fulfil the hardware requirements.
i just want to make sure if i should expect problems due to update/licensing restrictions befor spending money for those devices.
why i`m unsure?
i tried to netxfer image of compaq t20 to wyse 3235 some time ago, which is exactly the same hardware, but that didn`t work due to some security key violation. maybe there is some weird security mechanism in place….!?regards
roland1. January 2009 at 16:14 #14767You can easily upgrade your 3235 to CE 4/5 via normal FTP upgrade. No NetXfer is needed.
But when speaking about licensing you are violating MS license agreements as an upgrade from older CE versions to newer is chargeable.
You should conatct Wyse about that to keep compliant.
Other than that, no issues expected.
I did this for a customer with about 7500 units.CG

Ravi Modi25. January 2010 at 14:17 #17504You can download the firmware directly from Wyses Download section. Select 3235 (CE) under the Retired section.
1. If you install XRDP on your Linux server you can use RDP to connect to it. Or use the CE inbuild Terminal Emulations to connect via VT or SSH.
2. no other USB cards supported and not possible to implement your own.
