Here are a few articles that you may find useful on the 8235, please have a read and post back if you need some more help,

my 8235 is running, is not locked (i mean password), but i’m not able to open usb unlocktool, i don’t have rar for winnt 4.0, and usual rar is not running on my unit.
before asking these questions, i’ve read everything concerning 8235 on this website and on wyse website. so, i still have the same questions:
how to make a local net with another comp(win xp sp2)?
how to load in 8235 usb unlock tool?
what else is it possible to do in order to make 8235 more friendly?19. February 2008 at 5:06 #11758
To use the NTe.rar package on this site simply install WinRAR on a XP PC and extract the files. You should then log into the NTe terminal as administrator and ftp the files from the RAR down. This will allow you to install them on the terminal.
I am not sure what you mean by “un-lock USB”. I think you want to use USB memory keys – yes?
Sorry if I have not understood you,

I am glad you have made some progress 🙂
Question 1/ and 2/ can be answered in the administrator guide on password changes and write filter use. The guides are hard to find but here is a link:
Quick start guide:
Write Filter use:
The different images are for different size flash. You need to use the image the suits the flash on your device. So if you have a 128MB flash device you need the 128 MB image.
I hope this helps!

hi TT, thanks for answers.
as far as i understand U96STD180.bin is image of os, and w192b216.bin is image of hardware, is it correct? if hardware of my device is the same and i’d like to upgrade os only should i upgrade os image only or both images? when is it necessary to udgrade hardware image?

This is the explanation:
There were different versions of the 8235 with different flash modules in them.
The firmware you load from wyse.com is dependent on the flash module you have so w”192″b216 is for units with 192MB flash. U”96″STD180 is for units with 92MB of flash in them.
Hopefully this clears it up,
