Is there a simple way of reconverting a 3125SE terminal that was converted to an 1125SE BACK to a 3125SE? I tried to FTP but did not work, I also setup a laptop and tried to xfer the 3125 image to the terminal but it didnt work. Please help as we have about 50 of these that have the 1125 image.

    thanks

    Hi Vitran,

You want to go back to CE??? Hmmm…that’s a first

There is a special TWA_code you can load to do this however you will need to contact Wyse support to get the files. Have some device serial numbers on hand and a copy of the order for the original conversion kit in case they ask,

    Cheers,

back? isn’t 1125 much older than 3125? (sorry if i use incorrect terminology as I am a newb when it comes to thin clients).

the thin client has a sticker on the bottom where someone converted it from 3125 to an 1125, the interface looks older and doesnt support some things like the 3125 such as VNC and other features.

    No, no no!!!!!

Anything starting with a “1” is a Wyse Thin OS device and the best Thin Client OS there is!

    1 Series – WTOS
    3 Series – Windows CE
    5 Series – Linux
    9 Series – Windows XPe

When you turn a 1125 on it has the really bad looking green screen but everything is configurable and you can set up desktop colors etc. Have a look at this power point on setting up the 1125 with the WNOS.ini, its great!

In the downloads section are example configuration files for WTOS:

Have a play with these, the 1125 is easily twice as fast as the same hardware running Windows CE (3125) which is most likely why someone converted them in the first place. Quite frankly CE is past its prime and I use WTOS, XPe and Linux over CE depending on the situation.

Please give this ago, I know its a bit of learning curve but WTOS is really that good,

    Cheers,

while that sounds like a great option I’m working at a place with almost 300 CE units already deployed nationwide to users…..dont think my boss will want to change the setup or add an additional task at the moment but thanks…..

Ahh, I see. I would just leave the 1125’s as is and the same with the CE – its not a big issue to have both running it the same environment,
