I have been given the enviable task of setting up 5 V50L’s using the built in wireless, I have however run into a problem.

If I use WEP I have no issues but if I change over to WPA the units will not pick up any IP address unless another device is currently using the access point.

The units are currently using 6.6 and I have no choice on the encryption used.

So WPA mode work fine for as long as there is already one computer logged in to the AP?

    I was slightly wrong.

On WEP it would not pick up an IP unless another device was using it. Using WPA PSK it will not pick up the AP at all.

Was this issue resolved for you? I am working with V50L clients with the USB wireless and seeing intermittent abilities to connect and then not connect. error message in syslog is:

Failed to connect to wpa_supplicant -wpa_ctrl_open: Connection refused”

Sometimes it errors and then connects, sometimes errors and never connects and sometimes connects with no errors.

    Running WPA.

    Thanks

Unfortunatly not. I have tried with the internal wireless and our distro lent us one of the external USB units too.

    WPA will not work.
