I have a collection of c90lew thin clients and need to apply windows updates. I have successfully used WDM to do a test patch to a test client.

My question is this. They seem to have a few different versions of patches. They will be named something like:

    MS11-011_WESWFR1WFR2

Obviously the first part is the windows update.
Second part though is a bit cryptic. WES stands for Windows embedded System, but what does WFR1WFR2 mean? Some of the patches seem to only be for one or the other or both, but I have no idea what it is referring to.

    Second part of the question..

Is there a way to use WDM to deploy patches, but not do them one at a time. Doing each one separately is very time consuming and seemingly inefficient.

    Thanks in advance,

    Geoff

    Geoff,

WFR means Wyse Feature Release and refers to the build versions. If you are using the latest build you are on WFR2.
I will post a new package later next week that enables you to install several patches at once.
Please remind me, if I forget it.
