Hi, I am very new when it comes to WDM, WMS, Wyse. I currently have WDM version 5.0 Build 636 installed with 50 devices. I also have WMS web based with 100 devices. I would like to migrate the WDM devices to WMS. I downloaded WMS_Import_Tool_1_5_0_19.exe from Dell and it is stating that I need to be on version 5.7.2. I am not sure where to get that version update from. Can someone point me in the correct direction?3. December 2020 at 18:59 #53726
To add to this the WDM version 5.0 is a free/trial version.3. December 2020 at 19:20 #53727
What clients with which OS are you using?

WES and mostly D90D7 and 3290’s.3. December 2020 at 23:47 #53729
The import tool will not help here.
Make sure to install the latest available WDA agent on all clients as the first step.
Are you using DHCP/DNS to point the clients to WDM or WMS?

Not sure how I confirm the latest WDA agent, I am very new to these.
I believe they are using DHCP to point to WDM.8. December 2020 at 14:00 #53744
Check on the client itself. There you can find it either in the Systemtray or in the Control Panel – Installed Apps.

My test one is on 22.214.171.124. December 2020 at 17:08 #53765
this is far too old.
Download a newer WMS Agent (WDA) from support.dell.com and install it on the client.

I was able to install the WDA update on and successfully moved it to WMS.
Is there a way for me to push the client out to all the devices from WDM or do I have to do each client individually?21. December 2020 at 12:18 #53886
As WDM was able to push packages you should be able to create one and push it to all clients.

I see the packages for the older software but I am not seeing how to create a new package and add it to WDM. Is there a guide somewhere on your site for the steps?21. December 2020 at 17:47 #53905
To add to my above question. If I work in the package manager from what I am reading it is best to do a Device Image rather than a software package.
I try to get an image from a device but get hit with a license issue.
If I ‘Register a Configuration from a Device’ from the New Package Wizard the device I would like to use doesn’t appear and I an unable to use the search Criteria function.
I also attempted to create an .rsp witht eh ScriptBuilder Utility and saved it but when I go to my test device and run the Package Distribution Wizard, the .rsp I created doesn’t appear and only a single device shows in the ‘List of Devices’.21. December 2020 at 18:17 #53906
Well I feel I might be getting closer, I found in Package Manager > Agent Update I can use the Package Wizard to Register a Package. I went through the steps but it didn’t show up under Agent Update.22. December 2020 at 16:49 #53917
It doesn’t matter in which category the package appears. This is just for your reference, nothing more.
