We have WDM Enterprise 4.5.3 in our network environment for our ~215 XPe clients spread throughout about 15 locations. Our engineer is looking at deploying Microsoft WDS (Windows Deployment Services or something like that) for our desktop client imaging. The trouble is both servers have their own PXE services. 🙄
Has anyone successfully configured WDM and another server requiring PXE services in the same network environment? If so, what did the configuration look like?
Hi Cory,
WDM will only respond to devices which have the Wyse Hagent on them and are registered in the database. This will stop it trying to image PC’s.
In the Windows Deployment Server there should be an option to configure collections of devices that it will respond to. I have only just started playing with this as well however you should be able to add the MAC of the computers to respond to. I would Google to see if you can create wild card entry’s. For example allow only PC’s with a Dell MAC or exclude devices with a Wyse MAC (all Wyse devices start with 00 80 64 so exclude 00 80 64 XX XX XX)
Cheers,
