After doing a swap with a working unit we have identified the 512MB flash unit to be faulty. The TC is out of warranty.

We are looking at generic 44 pin IDE flash modules.

Does anyone know if replacing the flash will work? (with a none WYSE upgade).

If so, how do you flash a unit that has no OS on the flash? (I am guessing USB imager).

The biggest “official” image is for the WYSE 1GB v90 model. Could I use this on a 2GB flash, and if so, will I have 2GB C: drive, or will it be limited to 1GB because of the image was designed for a 1Gb flash?

    Thanks.

You should be able to use other flash device without an issue but this is nothing I could prove. I woul dsay the chance that it will work is around 80-90%.
Using the original Wyse image will auto-expand the image to the available flash space.
Do not use a flash larger than 2GB.

USB Imager will work fine. Otherwise you can also use WDM.

From Memory.com I have used the Transcend 1GB 44 pin flash module, they have other sizes. Cost for 1GB only $18.80. I have never tried a push, only a install and a clone.

Install = linux installs also with out flash but a 20gb 1.8 44 pin IDE drive anything that will or can install.

Clone = exact full copy of another units flash put into 2nd unit.
