The company that I’m working for is doing a test run of the V30L thin client using Citrix with them.
For some reason, people at a specific work site are getting disconnected from Citrix, although their session doesn’t close. If not taken care of properly, the open session becomes inaccessible and whatever the employee was working on is lost.
I have contacted WYSE about the issue and they haven’t been able to help yet.
Has anyone experienced this or know of a remedy?

Are you using Presentation Server 4?
Check out this thread on the Citrix support forms, seems there is a problem with certain hotfixes that causes random disconnects.

We are indeed using PS4 and that link that you gave me provided me with a lot of helpful information. Thanks a lot for posting that.
I disabled session reliability on one of the terminals and had the user stay logged in over the weekend in order to test the stability. The terminal has now been logged in since May 18th, 9:45am. I’m hoping that the problem was fixed just that easily, but easy is rarely the case when working with something so complex.
At this point, we’re hesitant to install a hotfix rollup because we just installed two brand new servers and are in the process of getting those up to snuff. Once those are up and going, we’ll probably install the rollup if the problem persists.
Again, thanks a lot for the helpful link. 😉29. June 2007 at 15:39 #9811
I just wanted to follow up on this for the sake of information.
We are still having the random disconnect issue. We upgraded our Citrix servers to the newest rollup pack and things seemed fine for a while.
The random disconnects became far less frequent until all of a sudden on Monday we had a user get disconnected three times in a matter of a couple of hours.
I’m starting to think it has something to do with the physical network. It’s weird though because we have a bunch of 3150s that work just fine. Only with the V30L do we see these disconnects. The v90L doesn’t do it and we’ve been testing a couple of those too.
I’m gonna keep on keeping on until this is fixed or I’ve tried everything. If I ever find a fix I’ll post it here in case anyone else ever encounters this problem.
