    Hello,

    we have strange problems with our V10/V10L/S10 Thin clients.

    1st:
    Animated (flash) websites (like http://www.samsung.de) are very slow. While they’re loading it’s not possible to do anything. Even to close IE or click on the Startmenu, it’s not responding.

    2nd:
    In PDFs, no matter what size, a click on the scrollbar results in up to 40 seconds waiting for scroll up or down.

    Wyse send us the newest firmware for V10 (6.5.0_34). That don’t solve the problems.
    Strange thing about that is, with the old 1200LE it works fine.

    We run Citrix Presentation Server Platinum Edition 4.5 on Windows 2003

    Any Help will be appreciated.

    regards
    Oliver

    Are you using Wyse TCX?
    Are you using any kind of encryption in the ICA connection?

    We don’t using TCX.
    Yes we’re using 128bit encryption.

    # browserip=a,b,c
    # application=notepad
    # autoconnect=1

    screensaver=10

    priviledge=low
    TimeZone=”GMT + 01:00″ ManualOverride=yes daylight=yes start=030507 end=100507
    TimeServer=time.company.com

    connect=ica

    icon=default
    domainname=DOMAIN
    browserip=IP1,IP2
    application=”DESKTOP”

    For testing purpose, can you try without encryption?

    OliverS – I just ran into a similar issues and found two causes:

    Cause #1`
    If MS Office is loaded on your server AND you are launching IE to a MS Sharepoint Site. When the Sharepoint site launches, a bunch of MS Office .DLL’s get loaded which cause a lot of sluggishness. As a test, once you get connected to the desktop, try START / RUN / http://www.samsung.com and see if the site responds any better

    CAUSE #2
    HDX Flash – If you have multiple servers in your farm, disable HDX Flash on one of them and then connect to that server, see if there are any differences in the response time or overall experience.

    For me, both of these issues fixed my problem and I’m now working with Citrix on a resolution.

    Oliver,
    I have seen the same issues on my side. I have a 512k DSL line between my XENApp server and the branch ThinOS terminal. When viewing a webpage with flash, I saw that the ica bandwidth runs constantly at 512k, while the flash plays, so the terminal becomes almost unusable. It has something to do with the way ThinOS trying to update the screen. If you use the Linux (V6), Linux (V7) and XPe terminals, you should not see this issue.

    I’m having the same issues on my side. The slowness of .pdf’s are making citrix/thin clients a deal breaker for me. I’m running V10s and Zeniths, and .pdf scrolling, is PAINFULLY slow to scroll. They open fast though. If anyone has any suggestions please post here.

    wanted to clarify. I’m running Xenapp 6 feature pack 5. Embedded os versions of WYSE do not have this problem.
