When users working on Excel 2007 specialy, V10LE used to freeze the screen several times a day, and the only hope to the user is turn off manually the terminal by the power button. And then restart .
We try few days 6.5.0_43 No pb
and since yesterday we try 7.0.0_34
with sysmode on VDI …

I am having similar issues using V10L.
we have recently upgraded to VMware View 4.5 and are now using wtos 7.0.0_30.
My users are experiencing random hang ups or slowness and occasionally total lock-ups where the terminal must be power cycled in order to reconnect to their desktops.
We are also experiencing “connection failed” errors when trying to reconnect to a desktop. the desktop is responding fine, but the termianl will not connect until it is rebooted.
nothing fancy in my ini file. using sysmode=VDI.
I really dont want to downgrade firmware.
I have opened several tickets with WYSE support, but have not been able to get an answer out of them about these issues.

7.0.0_34 is a hotfix release. If you have a maintenance then you can get it for free from Wyse support.

the website of wyse support…
You need to contact support on “wyse self support”
and they give you a link to get it.
At this time (24h hours later) no users called for FREEZE symptom on this release…

i was afraid of that. I just got my hands on 7.0.0_34, but it sounds like its not going to fix our freezing problem.
MacQueen, are you using VMware View? 4.5?
on your connection servers, do you have the “use secure tunnel” checked?
i just turned off secure tunneling last night and am testing it today. no complaints yet, but it is still early.
if you have a security server, secure tunneling must be used on the connection server that your securiy server is tied to. if you have a secondary connection server you can turn off tunneling on it and point your internal users to it.
when tunneling is turned off your traffic between your WYSE terminals and your desktop is tunneled through the connection server and may cause slowness or freezing if the connection server fails to respond (at least thats my guess)
when tunneling is turned off the traffic is sent directly from your WYSE terminal to the VM.
I will report back after the day is over as to whether or not this has solved my issue.

I was able to make it through the whole day yesterday, running 7.0.0_30 and secure tunneling disabled, without any reports of freezing or hanging.
I got 7.0.0_34 from my WYSE SE and I put it out there before I left. I have our terminals set to bounce daily at 3AM so they all should have gotten the code. As I was walking through the door this morning I got a call forma user with a frozen terminal with the red X on the screen.
I am putting 7.0.0_30 back out there and will run with that for a few days and report back.
CG, I know there aren’t any customer facing release notes for 7.0.0_34, but do you have anything you can provide as to what was changed/fixed?

So far, I have not had but one complaint from any of my users about their V10L locking up. I believe that turning off the secure tunneling feature on my connection server has taken some stress of the connection server and has allowed my terminals to communicate directly to the desktop.
Also, after going back through the View 4.5 Installation guide, I have noticed that the recommended hardware for 4.5 running on Server 2008 R2 is 10GB of RAM. I only started with 4GB. In fact, the documentation mentions the Java Virtual Machine Heap memory sizing, that if you install View with less than 10GB of RAM that the Java VM process would be allocated 512MB of RAM. If you install it with 10GB, the Java VM would be given 2GB. The Java VM’s responsibility is to handle the secure tunnel connection for all sessions. The documentation reads that, on a 64-bit machine, the only way to adjust the size of the Java VM heap memory is to uninstall View, add more memory and reinstall the software.

so, they want me to trace/capture what happen with the V10LE. But i don t found trace command on the interface. I follow their guide, .. impossible to get this. If any one knows how to..
