    Good afternoon all,

I have a query about how the Session Reliablity feature as configured on the Citrix farm end differs / interacts with Session Reliablity as configured in wnos.ini. For example, we use XenDesktop and V10L clients in remote offices which do not have SR configured in wnos.ini but which is set on the farm. If a client loses it’s wireless network connection the session remains active until the connection is restored, so it appears SR is active. However if I emulate a network issue at the data center end by disabling / enabling the NIC on the VM running the XenDesktop VDA then the session on the Wyse client is interupted with the message ‘Connection Reset By Peer’ and the user has to log back on. I then did some testing and enabled Session Reilability in wnos.ini which seemed to fix this issue, however further testing uncovered other issues even on WTOS v6.5.0_30 and so we have not used this in production.

It would be useful to find out if / why others use SR on the client end, if they use this with /instead of the farm settings and what their experiences have been. It would be really useful if we could get it working reliably on the client end as we seem to have some kind of intermittent network issue at the data center end which throws end users back out to the Wyse logon screen.

    Any info much appreciated.

Which other issues did you have after enableing SR?

Apologies CG for not replying sooner.
The issue when enabling SR in wnos.ini, i.e adding the line
‘SessionConfig=ICA SessionReliability=yes’ was that some end users complained of their sessions freezing or being taken back to the Wyse logon screen. In nearly all cases this happened whenever they were viewing websites with graphics / animations etc. In testing I never had an issue but was only using standard apps (Word / Excel etc) with a fairly static display. We are upgrading from XenDesktop v2.0 to v4 in the next couple of weeks and intend to enable SR again to see if any improvement.

    Cheers

    Phil
