    Good morning,

    I’m currently in the process of testing a Wyse Wireless Model C10LE using MiFis as one of our clients would like to use them as a failsafe should their leased line ever be down.

    The problem I’m having is that the MiFis give out their own IP as the DNS server and then do not route properly to our Citrix server, there’s no way that I’m aware of to change this on the Mifi. I can manually set this DNS server setting on the terminal, however, it is set back automatically on connection to the MiFi.

    Is there a way to make the DNS servers not be obtained by DHCP?

    Any help is appreciated

    Regards

    Paddy

    You could use this new wnos.ini parameter

    DNSIPVersion=ipv4 DNSServer=your_DNS_server

    Thanks, I’ll give it a shot, I’ve yet to configure the wnos.ini for them yet.

    This didn’t work for me, a few other posts on this forum suggested that you can’t set DNS using the WNOS? The log is telling me that neither DNSIPType nor DNSServer are valid commands.

    I think you’ll have to look at doing something at the DHCP server end.

    Can the ThinOS devices be set on a LAN / VLAN so you can leave the DNS options off the scope?

    The DNSIPVersion…. parameter is brand new and is supported with Thin OS build 7.1_122 or higher.

    The INI guide is available in the Wyse KB.
