Hi Thinkthin,
this is not weird, because i’ve added network support to my usbstick. The normal download works (enough memory to run DL), but when adding network support for downloading from the network i’ve not enough memory left to run the DL command.
I’ll try further and let you know.
March 7, 2008 at 10:21 am #12064Ahh, Ok got you. I thought you had the issue with the standard download. I have been playing with mapping a network drive as well, I use the expanded memory manager and this worked OK. Currently I am also messing with a different version of DOS rather than win98SE. I have not got more time to work on it for the next few weeks,
Cheers,

March 7, 2008 at 10:32 am #12066What network loader are you using? I based mine on this: http://www.netbootdisk.com/
March 10, 2008 at 5:42 pm #12080What output are you supposed to see once you press any key to start the imaging, and how can you tell it is progressing?
My USB key boots (FYI, a 2GB Kingston DataTraveler does boot,) I can pick a menu option, but when I get to the point that it is running DL.EXE it just sits and says “Operating in DOS mode…” and there doesn’t appear to be any drive activity on the USB drive or the X90L.
I am using a pre-production X90L, but my engineering contact at Wyse says it should operate the same as an X90 when trying to image off a USB key.
I have tried it with both the X90 menu option, the image renamed to 9X90.i2d in the X90 folder and have also tried creating a new menu item, batch file, and folder so it uses 9X92.i2d in the X90L folder.
Any thoughts?
March 10, 2008 at 7:51 pm #12085Thank you for the USB boot to image, but I am currently working with 9455XL and 941G units.
I would like to know any updates on getting those to USB or CD Boot to upgrade the Image.
And, which USB keys work for the different models.
Thank you
March 11, 2008 at 5:19 am #12089Hi Alan,
No go with these models and USB keys – we will need to have a BIOS update to support a large array on keys which will not happen on these older devices. It is possible to boot from CD ROM and image this way however I do not have a 941G with a CDROM to build and post the files at the moment,
Cheers,

Very nice tool, thanks!
…Sandisk Cruzer micro 4gb didn’t work, i just get a black screen with a cursor in the left corner…for all Sandisk Cruzer drives with U3, the U3 needs to be removed using the U3 removal utility from u3.com. Then the Cruzer disks will work fine.
The caveat is that if you actually ‘like’ the U3 menu on these drives, this process is irreversible so proceed with that understanding.
March 12, 2008 at 7:45 am #12127When removing the U3 utility, you can download the u3 launchpad tool to reinstall U3 on your usb device: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1411
March 17, 2008 at 10:59 am #12207Hello,
I´ve tried to flash a V10L (Model VT6048) with the new image-file v6.01.08 from wyse, but got an error-msg after running the .bat-file.
Searching for: (~)
'' to ''
Unable to Open Source ()
Transfer Error!
Program Terminated... Rebooting System
C:>First, there was no V10L.bat and no V10L-Dir in the Wyse_USB_Imager_Files directory, so I copied the V90L.bat file to V10L.bat and modified it like this:
dl "=1V12,=push,=V10L,"
Then I created the V10L directory and copied the 1V12_6.0.1_08-128.i2d-file from wyse in it and renamed it to 1V12.i2d.
Before flashing, I switched the EHCI-mode to disabled, as described in the pdf-manual.
But after flashing (I think it has read the file, because it took some time to get at 100% at one line), I got the error-msg above and my V10L does not boot from harddisk any more (it shows only a blinking cursor). Then I´ve tried flashing it again and used another image-file (1V12-6.0.0_14.08-128.i2d), but the errror-message was shown again.
Can anyone help me?
Regards, David
March 19, 2008 at 1:05 am #12233I know this sounds weird but what you get the blinking cursor can you then unplug the unit, remove the cover and re-set the CMOS jumper switch next to the battery. Just move it across to the the middle and outside pin and then move the jumper back to its original position,
Cheers,

Hi TT,
I did try a couple of times but same result – blue screen. For testing i tried another S90 image and result the same.
The same images works when i push it from Rapport.
Also, since all my S90 models part number ends with “L” so i am using S92 from the list when i boot from USB. Not sure why it is not working.
Thanks.
Hi All
Im new to thin client computing i was just wondering if the problem in the quoted commet ever got resolved, as i am having the same issue with the S90 when using the USB imager.
Thanks

April 3, 2008 at 4:06 am #12453Hi,
I have seen image corruption a bit now on S-Class and it is not resolved yet,
Sorry!
April 3, 2008 at 6:44 pm #12471Hi thinkthin
i tried the image again with the usb imager and it worked successfully
Thanks
akp
April 3, 2008 at 8:54 pm #12472Cool, the issue I am having is regular corruption on image load with S-Class. Not a problem if you loaded a 16MB image but bad news after and hour load of a 512MB image to find you have to do it again!
