    Hi there,

I tried to install Rapport on another PC using Windows 2000. When entering the sales key and connecting to the database the action was canceled with following error: “Unable to connect to database”
The servername is correct. I tried this on a client with already installed Rapport and it worked.

Is there a limitation of remote consoles? No other user tried to connect to the database via remote console that moment. What can I do to make it work?

    cheers,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Are you still having problems with this?

You can’t install Rapport again and connect to an existing database, or did you mean you were only trying to install the remote console?

SQL is picky about the name syntax. Try capitals – SERVER4 or SERVER4RAPPORTDB. I can’t recall which, also try connecting using the SA account,

    Cheers,
    -TT

Adding RAPPORTDB to the server path resolved the issue for me.
    Cheers Thinkthin.

Ahh…I tried that before without any success. A few minutes ago I tried it again with SERVERRAPPORTDB and this works.

GREAT, Thank you for all your support.

    greetings, Michael
