    Any way to turn off the system beep on a V10L? I’ve alraedy disabled AC’97 in BIOS, muted sound, etc..
    TIA!

    **Nevermind, found it:
    Device=Audio Volume=0 Mute=2

    OK- that didn’t work.

    Tried

    ;*******************************************************
    ; Volume
    ;*******************************************************

    Device=Audio Volume=0 Mute=2

    as well as:

    ;************************************************************
    ; General 2
    ;************************************************************

    Device=Audio Volume=0 Mute=2

    Crazy with alot of people in one room hearing this from every machine. We have multiple locations and are replacing old equipt. with V10L’s… approx.1000+ units, and I don’t want to go into each unit and remove speaker!

    I know that param works on S10 but not sure it was implemented in V10L.

    Maybe ConfGen can confirm? Also the V10L has no speaker, just a buzzer that goes beep! 🙂

    Cheers,

    Thanks, thinkthin- I tried manually typing the entry and then used ConfGen’s utility to take a look at how it wrote the code…
    I’ll crack a V10L apart tomorrow and see what I can see.

    Thanks, CG – I edited the .ini and waiting for my test user to try it… I’m awaiting a shipment of terminals now and don’t have a spare (my test terminal was taken by another admin for testing 😡 ).

    I checked a few- v6.0.1_04 and v6.1.0_08 (from System Information>General).
    The earlier is a V10L with NIC only, the latter has both NIC and built-in wireless, though that shouldn’t have anything to do with the system beep.
    Also- the latter appears to have a quieter beep, although that may just be me.
    Will check with my Wyse area rep and ask him, too.
    It’s starting to look as if this can’t be done.
