    Hi,

I have received some questions about using touchscreens on our devices, and I’m wondering on the status for the use of touchscreens on D10D/D10DP/R10 (we only have clients with ThinOS). Is this still kind of restricted to ELO screens?

I’ve been searching for an overview over supported touchscreens, but haven’t succeeded in my search. Does anyone know of an overview or list of supported touchscreens (regardless of make/model)?

We are using ThinOS devices with touchscreens, in our experience you don’t have to use an ELO manufactured touchscreen but it does need to use an ELO resistive controller. In our case we’re using Hope Industrial monitors.

That said, we noticed this in the 8.5 Release Notes:

From ThinOS version 8.5, the ELO touch screen does not work in certain scenarios. Dell recommends that you use the touch screen listed in the Tested Peripherals matrix.

This has us concerned about future compatibility with our ELO devices, I reached out to Dell about this but haven’t heard back yet.

    ELO touchscreen is still supported.
With the 8.5 HF2 firmware (8.5_012 or higher) we also have support for
    – ELO TouchPro 8200 Controller (Pro-G and Pro-F PCAP multi-touchscreens)
    – Dell Monitor P2418T
and of course, still all ELO AccuTouch and IntelliTouch models.

    Hi,

    Thanks a lot!

I’ll check out the Dell Monitor P2418T and see how it works on our devices.

I’ve got the Dell P2418HT (touchscreen) and connected it to a D10DP (with the latest firmware) but it doesn’t work. According to the eventlog it recognises the screen but when I touch it it shows only the same meny as when i click on the screen (it goes away if I touch it again). If I just put my finger on the screen and hold it there, I get the same menu as when I right click on the screen. I have tried different settings but I can’t get the tab for touchscreen (under periferals) activated. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

    Sounds like touch is working.
The tab is only for calibrating the screen if supported.

In the release notes for ver. 8.5_009 Dell list this screen under ‘Tested Peripherals Matrix’ so it should be supported…? I’m not able to do calibrating since I can’t get the ‘touch’-bit to work other than showing the menus for left-/right-mouseclick – as mentioned earlier.

Do you or anyone else have a suggestion on how to activate the touchscreen tab or on how to create an ini-file that works?

ThinOS only supports single touch locally. Multitouch is only working in a Citrix Microsoft RDP environment.

    Hey Thomas,

For Mutlitouch in ICA, is this over RAW usb redirection?

No, it is not needed to redirect via USB.
    Should work directly.

    Thanks, Thomas.

Unfortunately, we were not able to make the multi-touch work with 8.5 and Dell P2418HT without USB redirection.

Is there a wyse INI setting or a Citrix HDX policy that goes with this?

Also on the wyse client, with no sessions running. we are able to interact with single touch even though the touchscreen tab is grayed out under peripherals. not sure if this is an expected behavior.

    Hi  Thomas.

even with mtouch line, the touch didn’t work over ica.  I had to add the following lines to keep the touch input local.

    Device=vusb ForceLocal=0x1fd2,0x6103,0x03,0x01,0x01 InterfaceRedirect=no
    Device=vusb ForceLocal=0x0424,0x274c,0x03,0x01,0x01 InterfaceRedirect=no

multitouch still doesnt work, single touch makes it into ICA.

Dell is treating this as a feature request

    • Touch screen
    – Elo Touch Screen USB
    – Elo Touch Screen Serial

NOTE: Multi touch is supported only for RDP and not supported for ICA session and on the local system

    Yes, sorry, my bad.
RDP only and no ICA, PCoIP or Blast multitouch support.
