    Hello,

We run V10L and C10LE in our environment and are considering replacing our end of life V10L with the new Xenith 2.

We use FTP to deliver global and custom (username) ini files to our Wyse fleet.

What would be the most streamlined way to introduce the Xenith to our environment with minimal configuration changes?

The Xenith uses a xen.ini config file as oppossed to a wnos.ini but from my limited testing the wnos.ini does connect the Xenith to the Citrix published desktop.

Our custom ini files are for users who require USB storage write access and RDP connections.

    Thanks.

Xenith does not Support RDP. But other than that, just install the unit and you are done.
Although Xenith is using a xen.ini by default, it is also always checking for a wnos.ini if it could not find a wnos.ini.

    1) copy wnos.ini to xen.ini and test. Should work provided wnos.ini has PnliteServer or SelectServerList=PNA ;… commands.
    2) not sure if Xenith supports rdp connections in the current firmware virsion. The very first Xenith firmware simply worked both with wnos.ini and rdp but later rdp support was deleted. So…I’d better purchase C10LE or T10 to solve both tasks. And save money BTW:-)

Thanks for the replies. Have not tried RDP but ConfGen does not have it available so I assumed was unavailable.

So it will only use the wnos.ini if the xen.ini is not present?

Using the wnos.ini for Xenith did not allow the passthrough of credentials to the XenApp server and therefore I was prompted with server login screen.

USB disk access does not appear to be working. Works fine on C10LE.

    Fixed. Needed to add unmapusb=yes

    ;*************************************************************
    ;* General Session *
    ;*************************************************************

    sessionconfig=all mapdisks=yes unmapusb=yes DisksReadOnly=yes

    From Wyse:
“If you are using Citrix XenApp and want to map USB disk drives, you will need to add “Sessionconfig=all unmapusb=yes mapdisks=yes” in your INI file. This disables HDX USB (which only XenDesktop supports) and allows the traditional disk drive mapping to be enabled.”

Did not have this setting in my wnos.ini for our WTOS devices and the usb drive mapping worked fine. I added it wnos.ini, tested usb drive mapping and it worked so I’ll leave it there.
