Let me set up the situation…

I have about 30 D10d and 10 Vx0LE thin clients all hooked up to our network via DHCP server and it works fine.

But after installing Wyse TCX Suite on the RDS Serv, and changing 3 things in the wnos.ini file the thin clients now I recieve this error when hooking up a new thin client(D10D or Vx0LE).
“Looking up WDM Server by DNS hostname…
    DNS/WINS can’t resolve [wdmserver]
Looking up WDM Server by DSN SRV record…
    DNS/WINS can’t resolve [server….]
    Contacting File Server…
    DNS/WINS can’t resolve [wyseftpfbc4tc]
    Cannot access system profile”

The only changes ot the wnos.ini was unmapprinters=yes to “no” and unmapusb=yes to “no”, and USBredirection=RDP to “TCX”.
    Then we restarted the server.

These were the only changes made. Could it be an issue with these stopping the connection? Those settings don’t really apply to the connection stuff anyways so I don’t think so. Maybe when the server was reset something the thin client used to connect wasnt started automatically?

    Any help is appreciated.

FYI When I ping the fileserver path it is unreachable.

    DNS servers are though.

If the FTP server is unreachable then the message “Cannot access system profile” is obvious.
Fix your FTP server and everything should be fine. For sure the modified/new parameters aren’t the issue.

why would you install tcx ?
upgrade your server to rdp8 use RDP redirection – works great at no extra cost!

    Please need your help.

Do you have a WDM Server running? Is the DNS name “wdmserver” resolvable?
