I have gotten a trial of VMware view and i am trying to get TCX to work with it. It is the current version of View and i am running R10L clients with the WTOS. I have read that say to not install the VMware USB redirection in the agent but R10l all ready have the agent installed correct? I am trying to connect to an XP SP3 VM that i have TCX server installed on. Im thinking that it is an issue with the client but i am not sure how to change it on the WTOS.

    What is your issue?
About installing or not installing the USB redirection, it is meant to not install it in the XP session along with the View agent.

The issue is trying to get TCX to work. I am confused how i should go about doing this.

I have TCX server installed to the windows XP VM that I am connecting to but TCX is not working. I am not sure why.

From my research I have read that when you install the view client on terminals that do not have the view client from the factory, not to install the VMware usb redirection, because it interferes with TCX. Since the View client is installed from the factory on this terminal I am not sure how to go about uninstalling and reinstalling the client without the VMware USB redirection component.

Again I am not sure if this is the issue or if there is something else that I am missing.

    Thanks for the response.

The View client has nothing to do with that.
It is all about the View agent inside the virtual session.

Ok so I have re installed the view agent inside of the virtual session with out the VMware USB redirection and installed only the USB part of TCX. I have added a USB controller to the virtual machine, and in the ViewAdministrator USB access is set to allow. I am still not having success. I have included the TCX USB log file. The one thing that I am noticing in the log is “Remote PC doesn’t have USB redirection capabilities ” is this referring to the terminal or the virtual machine?

    That refers to the session.
What firmware do you have installed on the R10L?

Issue Seems to be resolved. I discovered connecting directly to the virtual machine TCX worked fine. So the porblem had to be with the VmWare connection manager. The VmWare view admin had an option to not use secure tunneling when connecting. Once this option was ticked TCX USB worked correctly.

Thanks for the great resource and being helpful as always.
