Hello all,
I’m currently upgrading thin clients to Firmware 2.0_512. I sent out the policy through Dell Cloud Client Manager. The update went through but it is still not updating.
In System Information > Event Log I get the message “Skipping firmware check on ftp since already received upgrade/downgrade request from CCM”.
I have tried restarting the thin client remotely through CCM and also restarting manually on the devices but neither way works. Please note that earlier I was able to send the firmware out for a group and then manually restart all of them. This time I sent out the firmware for the group and then restarted one thin client through CCM, and now I can’t upgrade any of the thin clients in the group remotely or manually.
Ideally I would like to just send out the new firmware and then restart the all of the thin clients through CCM, but this message messes that up. I maintain about 200 thin clients so being able to do this remotely is almost a necessity.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I have encountered this before and I worked around it by creating a new CCM group with the Firmware policies, switched the thin client to the new group, let it update, and then switched it back to its original group.
I am able to do that now, but to do this for so many thin clients is not really feasible.
