Here is my problem and I hope I put this in the correct place.
We are an educational institute that is starting to use Citrix.
We are using Cisco 2212 thinclients on the desktops
We are using WNOS.ini files with the Autoconnectlist= command to autoconnect to a certain xendesktop vm.
The problem is we are rolling out more classrooms and if the autoconnect fails for some reason it goes to a list of all available desktops and I don’t want that. I want if you are in room 1 to only see the images for room 1 and not room 1 and 2 and 3.

Is there a way I can do this.

We are not using user groups because that would not work for us since some students would be in multiple groups and trying to keep that straight would wear our admin guys out.

Our reseller has been all but useless in everything we have asked them so I came here for help.

Thank you for any help you can give.

How to distinguish betwenn the different app? Is there a clear way to see in the name that it is from room 1 or 2 or…?
I have never tried but maybe you can name the thin clients to match the room. For example, all thin clients in room 1 are named room1tc1, room1tc2, and so on. The published apps are named room1desktop, room2desktop, etc.
Then you could try, and again I have never tested, to use this Autoconnect string.
    Autoconnectlist=”Your_FARMName:&Left($TN, 5)&desktop”

    Give it a try.

Thank you for the reply, but we are using the autoconnect= for the desktops,
The problem is if it fails to connect to one it kicks them to the zero config tool bar on the Cisco 2212 and they list every room.

We don’t want the students to accidentally log into the wrong image because of printing.

Is there a way to just hide the toolbar all together? I cannot find anyone using thin clients in a learning environment.

Tried that and set all the desktops to maintenance mode to force the thin client to error out and it kicked me back to the toolbar with the entire schools citrix desktops listed on the toolbar.

Can you again explain why my suggestion with
    “Autoconnectlist=”Your_FARMName:&Left($TN, 5)&desktop” “
    is not usable for you?
