    Start situation:
Old ftp server on Windows 2000 with wrongly chosen non-private address 172.216.1.5/22
New ftp server on 2008R2 with address 10.34.0.27/24
S50 thin clients, old and newest firmware; thinos
Cisco router with dhcp option 161 (as ip) 172.216.1.5

When I manually choose the new ftp server in the thin client, I get the right config, but when the DHCP server gives the new address, it’s not accepted by the thin client and somehow translated to 10.0.0.27

I have checked the DHCP offer with Wireshark and offer is ok:
    Option: (t=161,l=4) Unassigned; Length: 4
    Value: ac:d8:01:05 (= 172.216.1.5) [current value]
    Value: 0a:22:00:1b (= 10.34.0.27) [new value]

Next network package is wrong, 34 becomes 0.
    28199 3900.093480 172.216.3.51 10.0.0.27 TCP 74 4711 > ftp [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 SACK_PERM=1 TSval=4294938822 TSecr=0 WS=4

    what I have tried:
    different firmware versions
other FTP server on laptop with different ip addresses

Problem remains: no ip address in subnet 10.34.0.0/24 is accepted by the thin client. 10.33.0.27 and 10.35.0.27 works fine; only addresses in the required range don’t.

    any ideas?
