I’m running into a strange issue with Windows CE build 590 where any S30 terminal that I image will not launch ICA session windows.

What happens is that the WinTerm will contact the Citrix server and connect to the published app, and it will get to the point where it says “Connection established. Negotiating Capabilities”. Normally the ICA session should start at this point, however the WinTerm instead returns to the connection manager screen with no error message.

Citrix always works properly on the WinTerm(s) I use to create and pull my images from, but any device that I push my images to will encounter this issue.

I have tried using both RoHS and non-RoHS compliant S30s and have tried using both the 32MB and 64MB versions of build 590 (on 32MB and 64MB S30s rexpectively) but the issue is the same regardless of hardware.

What makes this even more strange is that I also used this firmware release to make an image for my 3150 terminals and they all connect to Citrix perfectly using the exact same firmware, settings, and ICA build.

Any idea what may be causing this? I need to get 30 brand new S30 terminals (with 64MB flash) up and running by Tuesday and I would really rather not do them all manually.

Sounds to me like a TSCAL issue. Check the Terminal Services License Server’s eventlog for any hints.

Thanks for the advice. I cleared out the TSCALs and it seems to be working.
