    Hi there.
    By mistake I now have 2 S10’s with a wrong firmware, the WT1200LE 5.0.031f.
Because of that firmware, the keyboard and mouse are not working anymore.
I replaced the firmware on the FTP, but it doesn’t pick the new (5.1.028) firmware.

Is there another way to get the new firmware back on these S10’s ?

    Hi,

I am assuming you have the S10 firmware called RCA_wnos in you wnos folder? Is there any errors in the S10 system log like “unable to access system profile”?

Also make sure you have the line Autoload=2 in the wnos.ini.

Finally sometimes I get a device like this and after a “reset to factory defaults” it loads the firmware correctly,

    Cheers,

The correct firmware (RCA_wnos 5.1.028) is now on the FTP. Tried several settings in the wnos.ini, but it looks like the wrong flashed wbt’s are not picking up anything.
A reset to factory default would be great, but I can’t access the settings in de S10, keyboard and mouse are not detected. So the “G-Key”-option doesn’t work.
Also because of that I can’t have a good look at the event log.
After booting the S10, it stops at “Conneting to file server”, and after a while it tries to connect to the default “Desktop”.

I while return both devices to the supplier today, perhaps the can get the correct bios installed.

    Hi,

It is not possable to load the wrong BIOS and have the unit boot, if you loaded the wrong BIOS the S10 would be a brick. 5.0.03f is a early S10 release.

The keyboard not working is strange, are you using the standard wyse one? Can you maybe use the VNC viewer to remote control the terminal and then do a factory reset?

Also try a few locations of the WNOS folder on the ftp server:

    ftproot/wnos
    and
    ftproot/wyse/wnos

Sometimes the firmware will not try where you expect,

    Cheers,

    Hi
I`m experiencing the exact same problem on one of our S10`s. I`m using a standard wyse keyboard and mouse. Did you find a solution for this problem?

    Hi Sven,

Can you try my suggestion above and VNC the device and force a factory reset? Then see if it loads the newer firmware available from wyse.com,

    Cheers,

I`ve tried that, but I get an error saying “failed to connect: Connection refused (10061)” on the guest. Is there a way to flash the client with usb-stick?

If you set VNCprompt=0 in the wnos.ini file does it work then? (VNC that is)

I still get the error message and no connection via VNC. I don`t think the client reads the wnos-file at all as no icons is shown on the desktop. Guess this should be a warranty issue so I might as well send it to the dealer for repair.

    Thanks for your help 🙂

Yep, I think I will need to give up on this one. Unfortunatly there is not much you can do if we cant get the FTP file to load.

    Good Luck!!!
