Reset Wyse to Factory OS Install

    Hi Everyone,

    Does anyone know how to flash / make the OS back to a fresh install on a X90CW mobile thin client? I know the write filter should do this but we have installed some things with the write filter off that we would like to clear out. Thanks.

    The WES or XPe based units can not be resetted by a simple key.
    You have to reflash the unit. Easiest way to do is using the Wyse USB Imager.
    Download the Imager and the firmware from the Wyse website, start the imager on your PC to prepare your USB stick and then reflash the X90CW using this stick.
    Very easy to do.

    Thanks for the info but still could not get it to work. The guide to use the USB imager doesn’t mention anything about the operating system and after my USB was configured and I try to boot it on my Wyse it says Missing Operating System.

    How can a USB with 1 folder called “Image” and a file called “pushpull.xml” complete an install for Windows XP? The guide is definitely missing a step here. Wyse really needs to get better documentation for their products.

    Any further help would be great.

    Nevermind my previous post. The documentation fails to mention the part where you have to download the OS image and select it when creating the USB flash. I called Wyse and they were able to help me out.
