    Hi,

We have numerous sites which we are deploying the V90 terminals on and have therfore deployed software repositorys to make it faster and easier to deploy images and packages when needed.

However when synchronising to these boxes it is very slow. I have run a fix from wyse to resolve an issue in V4.5 with synchronisation bandwidth which has increased the speed but now the issue is the fact that the image size is 380mb. It just takes too long to send this amount of data. Is there no way of compressing the images to send them???

    Hi Tom,

Unfortunatly WDM does not compress images, it would be great if it did!

    Cheers,

That is a shame as it would make life alot easier when working with terminals over WAN’s (and alot quicker) oh well……maybe in the future…??

Yep, I agree. Most images have a lot of free space and a some simple LZ compression would make them much smaller.

I would put it up there with support for NAT and secure transfers on 443 as far as the desired features I would like to see!

    Cheers,
