I am currently using rapport/wdm to remotely shutdown all our V30 and V90 terminals every weekend by selecting all terminals and right-clicking shutdown. The reason for this is to reduce our energy consumption.

I have now been tasked to do this on a nightly basis and wondering if anyone knows a way of automating this process, via a script or using a 3rd Party Application. If you are not aware of this does anyone know if Wyse have any plans on implementing a tool or even a “power options” CE addon or similar?

    Thanks

You can try it with ConfGen (see signature). Although I have only implemented WTOS and Linux, it should work with CE and XPe the same way.
    Tell me your findings.

    Hi

I’ve just had a look at configen for “WinCE Configuration Addon” but I can’t see anything obvious in there to create a shutdown parameter for the Windows CE?

    Any suggestions?

Use the “direct commands” and not the CE section.

Thanks CG, But this doesn’t appear to work on windows CE clients.

I’ve basically entered the IP address and Port of the client using the “WTOS” and “Wyse Linux” commands and the application just hangs when I send the command to the terminal. I left the application for 10 minutes and in that time the terminal did not manage to shut down.

Anyone aware of any other tools/script to remotely shut down 4,000 windows ce terminals?

    Thanks
