I have downloaded and configured a portable WinCE 5.0 emulator to my usb key drive, it works fine but it does not have rdp, how can i get this to work or install it?

also the image file for CE i have (on the keydrive) is called NK.CEM can i replace it with another IMAGE and rename it NK.CEM and run it?

i use a batch file to load the emulator? p.s. how can you installobtain programssoftware addons for this type of computing?

    Hi Anthony,

I am not familular with the CE emulator you are using, can you post a link to the site you got it from?

As for Wyse CE they produce addons and are avaliable from Wyse.com – unfortunatly with Windows CE you can not take any vendors CE software and load it. Each software package will need to be customised,

You have to download firmware with WinCE image (I’ve tried it on firmware from Compaq T1010 or Wyse 3230TE, not sure), then extract the archive (SFX exe), and extract files from CPQ or WYE firmware file with bundle-tools ( http://winterm.gaast.net/downloads/ – v0.7 worked well with cygwin). Then you’ll got several files including mstsc.exe (that is terminal services client for CE). You should mount folder with files extracted from .CPQ or WYE firmware file as storage card in CE 5.0 emulator, and then run mstct.exe within emulated Windows CE 5.0 (AFAIR first option in file menu)
Although most executable files from firmware of T1010 or WT3230 image don’t work with CE 5.0 (both units have CE 2.0) – they need several dependencies (like coredll.dll), and I haven’t managed to extract them from nk.bin image so far, mstsc.exe works (at least for me), but I haven’t managed to log-in due to strange keyboard mapping. @Anthony wrote:

I’ve tried it too, without success (I’ve only heard beep, and screen went blank) – although both WinCE emulator and T1010/WT3230 are x86 based, nk.bin from thin client firmware is not compatibile with MS emulator.
(CE 5.0 emulator can be downloaded for free from microsoft.com )
