I have a few older 3630LE that’s I’ve been considering upgrading the RAM from 32Mb to 160mb by purchasing some 128Mb PC100 Dimms on the client?

Will this improve the performance at all using RDP? Specifically will it improve the “feel” by increasing bitmap caching, better scrolling, or network caching? I’m assuming caching is all done in RAM. I only care about RDP performance, I don’t use the browser.

WinCE 4.2 with RDP 5.1. No domain in use, simple workgroup setup.

Increasing the local RAM normally does not increase the speed.
Bitmap caching is not working well on CE. You will see black fragments sometimes when using it.
Putting more RAM in a unit will only enhance the number of simultaneous sessions that can be opened locally.
