Im new to the thin clients and I am trying to set up a serial connection on one of my clients. the clients are RPDing into server 2008. I have configured the connection in the thin os and the client session correctly(same settings that worked on the old desktop). But when ever any data is send over the serial line the program locks up. Any insight on how the client sends the serial data to the server and why this may be happening?

    Thanks

Can your application see newly mapped COM port on the server? Can you connect to the attached device with Hyper terminal run on the server and sendrecieve some commands? Does COM port settings (Baud rate, parity, etc) set on the R10 match ones on the device? And finally: does this(locking up) happen on the only or on all R10 clients?

how does the terminal map the COM port? all the settings match up but I cant get any info from hyper terminal either. the only WYSE devices we are using currently are the R10L clients.

Have you tried with “net use Com1: \tsclientcom1:” ?
