Hi.
Using WDM 4.5.0 and Rapport, I can Get an Image From a Device using PXE but I can’t Push one out again.
The device gets an IP from ProxyDHCP from the WDM server (Server 2003 R2) but comes up with Auto-select: localboot and PXE exits.
We are using Cisco switches but have enabled PortFast, there’s no VLAN configuration on the switches.
12. January 2007 at 22:18 #8953If during boot you are seeing the “Local Boot” selection and the device boots quickly into the native OS, it is not a PXE issue. This boot selection is a part of the boot floppy that WDM sends down as a result of a PXE boot.
The issue is somewhere in the WDM scheduling. WDM is responding to the boot floppy saying that there are no pending jobs for this device.
What Winterm model?
Do you happen to have a wireless card installed in this device?-Phatty

Sounds like you’re right about the WDM scheduler, although if I set the job up for ‘now’ the device powers on with WoL or reboots fine, but then fails with the LocalBoot issue notes above.
There’s no wireless interfaces in this device.
Thanks for your help!
17. January 2007 at 6:37 #8959Try this:
turn 9150 off.
Schedule imaging job in WDM
go into Update Manager Pending Updates
right click the imaging job you just scheduled
select “Roll to Boot”
power on the 9150.This will force WDM to ignore any commands in the script and immediately
begin the imaging job.17. January 2007 at 10:28 #8962Exactly the same problem 🙁
Is there a certain way of scheduling the update? I’m using Update Manager/Scheduled Updates, right click, New > Update… , selecting Images, selecting my image, selecting the device, selecting Now, and then finishing.
The device says Imagable = Yes in Device Manager.
I’m really stuck now!
18. January 2007 at 16:34 #8963The problem was the SQLAgent$RAPPORTDB service was not started. As soon as this was started, PXE started working!
Thanks everyone for your help.
