    Hi,

I am trying to push a rapport package on a V90L unit – the package has got a reg key that is applied to the HKCU.

When i push the package and click on “Update Now” the unit restarts and then when i login manually with the user account the package gets deployed successfully – no issues.

The issue now is if i push the package and the unit after it restarts automatically in 2 mins if i do not click on “Update Now”, it restarts and i get the login screen – if i do not login the package does not get deployed successfully because i believe it REQUIRES to login to make the HKCU reg change.

I have got multiple sites and i want to push the package overnite – i will have no one to login and i want to deploy the package successfully without someone login in – How do i fix this?

    Pls help.

    Thanks.

Do you have stopped the Wyse autologin? What does your script look like? Maybe deleting the “LU” and “QU” command can help.

    Hi CG,

I have set auto-login and have also set disclaimer on. So, when the terminal boots it stops at disclaimer and wait for user to click on “OK” and then loads the desktop.

My script is basically doing the following –

    LU
    Creating shortcut
    Installing a software
(local pause here for 60 secs)
Adding /changing values in registry under HKCU
(local pause here for 5 secs)
    Finally, deleting some temp files
    EL

When i push the script, it does the following after you get the update now screen and terminal automatically rebooting in 2 mins –

So, if there is no one to click on OK at the disclaimer screen after the unit reboots it will only do the following –

    LU
    Creating shortcut
    Installing a software

After the above the unit restarts – the rest portion of the script has not applied – like the reg changes HKCU are not applied.

But, if someone hits on OK at the disclaimer screen then the script executes fully – no issues.

    Please advice.

    Thanks.

Please post your exact push registry line of the script to troubleshoot.
Remember that scripts are always executed as system account and not in the context of the logged in user.

    Here’s my script –

    LU*

    XC “adb*” “C:Temp”

    EX “msiexec /i c:tempadb30_enu.MSI TRANSFORMS=c:tempadb30_B01.MST /qb”
    LP “60”

    ;Merge Registry Files

    MR “regsAccess.reg” “User”

    ;Delete Temp files

    DF “C:Temp*”

    EL*

    RB

    ******************

From the above script, it installs the software adb30_enu.MSI but does not run the reg setting file Access.reg which is as below –

    Access.reg

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer]
    “NoDrives”=dword:143

    **********************

As mentioned before the above script successfully runs if i click on ok on the disclaimer screen and the user is auto logged in. But, if i do not hit on OK which is what i want because there is no one onsite and wants to run the script overnite then only the package is installed and the reg portion of the script does not run for some reason. There is no error message logged in Rapport as well.

    Please advice.

OK, the script looks fine to me.
And it seems that this is really an issue with wether you are logged in or not. Maybe you can try to insert a regkey in the RunOnce ke in the regstry to import the access.reg file at first boot? As this is not a HKCU reg keyit could work.
