Apologies if this has been covered, I’m new to the forum and I did search but found nothing.
I’m not new to thin clients, I was using Blazers ten years ago and they were great. I’ve been away from them for a few years though and now I’m getting involved again, things have become a little more complicated.
We use Citrix XenApp. One of the great features of newer versions of XenApp is HDX technology, whereby some of the processing is done on the client instead of on the server. For this to work when viewing a website, the client (not just the Citrix server) has to have connectivity to that website. This presents a problem. We use Microsoft ISA server as our proxy, which requires the user to authenticate with an active directory account. On a PC, that’s fine, because the user logs into the client before launching their Citrix session. On a thin client, it’s a different story.
How can I get around this problem? I would expect that this is a fairly common configuration, but I’m finding getting a good solution to be quite difficult. 😕
We had an aborted rollout of HP thin clients last year, partly because of this issue. Now we’re going to try again with WYSE, but I still don’t really know how to solve this problem.
