    Hello,

Im working in a school environment and will be deploying a lab of c10le thin clients working with windows server 2008 r2 RDP sessions. I need to use the TCX suite which i have installed and working for everything it does except for the usb thumb drives.

My problem is that all the lab users will be setup as one user name and with the tcx suite the thumb drives are seen by everyone. This simply wont work in a school setting, the kids will have a field day erasing everyone elses files.

That being said what is the work around for being able to use thumb drives that are private to each session?

    Thanks!

For USB stick to be redirected you do not have to use TCX. Or in other words, you should NOT use TCX USB in a TS environment for the reasons you just mentioned.
Instead of that you can use the native USB Disk redirection.
Either by enabling the “Disk” mapping in the RDP config or by using the “SessionConfig=ALL MapDisks=yes ” parameter in your wnos.ini.

    Thanks for the reply!

The problem is I need tcx suite for flash redirection, if I remove the usb option in tcx the students still get a tcx msg saying usb drives are not allowed by the administrator and the drive mapping option in the ini doesnt seem to work.

But if you would like your users to use USB sticks, then you should enable this in your TS environment.
