As the title says really, we have recently upgraded our WDM to 4.5.3 & we now can’t push an image to any of our V90L’s. The V90 image we have works fine both ways.
We can pull an image from a V90L, but when we try & push it back we get a message saying: –
The scheduled image is an old image and is incompatible with newer thin clients. Please choose a newer image which is compatible with the new thin clients.
The devices check in ok with this image on them & I can push updates etc out to them no problem.
September 26, 2008 at 12:57 pm #14006If I check the script package for a V90 it reads: –
[Version]
Number=XXXXX
Description=XXXXX
OS=XP
Category=Images
USE_PXE=YES
command=%imagewrite%
BootFloppy=Rapportitf
USE_REMOTE=YES
ImageSize=1024If I check the script package for a V90L it reads: –
[Version]
Number=XXXXX
ImageVersion=3.00435.1000
Description=XXXXX
OS=XP
Category=Images
USE_PXE=YES
command=%imagewrite%
BootFloppy=Rapportitf
USE_REMOTE=YES
ImageSize=1024The V90L has an extra line in refering to ImageVersion is this the cause of my problem? If so how do I change this?
September 26, 2008 at 2:31 pm #14009Got it sorted, had to add the following line into my rsp file to get it going: –
ImageVersion=4.050571.1024
October 2, 2008 at 5:56 pm #14052Wyse added that ImageVersion tag as a hotfix for WDM 4.5.1 late last year before 4.5.2 was released. My understand is there were some minor manufacturing changes on the V90L which necessitated a specific minimal BIOS version for compatiblity. The ImageVersion line is to restrict old images from bricking new units.
These are the minimum values (from the DB)
XPE = 4.030556.512
CE = 563.14
LX = 6.3.2-52As long as your XPE image is newer than Build 556 then you can just add that line and be on your way. This was a big annoyance when I first came across it too, but better than bricking all the units.
If its older than 556, then you should grab newer FW from wyse.com (yours at 571 is fine)
