After i succesfully update a wyse s50 to version 6.4 , the system is very slow, and only without network, i get to see the destop, but no icons are working.
(6.3.2 was previously installed)anyone any sugesstion why the system is not responding after the update?
March 19, 2008 at 12:00 pm #12249You are one up on me, I did not know there was a 6.4 released! Where did you get this version?
Cheers,

1. Linux 6.4 S50-V50_6.4.0_19_wlx-ftp.zip Version Linux 6.4 Release for V50 – FTP Image
2. Linux 6.4 5S52_REL_6.4.0_19-128.zip Version Linux 6.4 Release for V50 – WDM Imaginhere you can find it, but how can i go back to 6.3.2?
March 19, 2008 at 1:39 pm #122576.4.019 was released a week ago. I heard of some issues with that release up to killed units after the upgrade.
I cannot confirm any of these issue. My S50 runs fine with 6.4_019. It has the same (slow) speed as before, I can see all icons and start my RDP and ICA sessions. To go back you can either delete the 6.4.xxx.64m file from your FTP server and put a 6.3.xxx.64m file in(autoload has to be equal 1 in your wlx.ini) or (if this is not working) use WDM or WSI to downgrade using the .i2d file from the download section (2nd one in your list)

March 19, 2008 at 2:28 pm #12263ok, thanks i will try it,
funny i can acces the taskbar on the wyse, but all the rest is not working, i see the ica sessions, but they not work anymore, , start works, but double clicking on any other icons like control panel,…..nothing happens!… 🙁 😈 😈
Can it be, it’s an older s50 with not enough flash memory space?
i did not see any errors while upgrading thought.
March 19, 2008 at 3:04 pm #12265Have you tried a reset to factory defaults?
March 19, 2008 at 3:25 pm #12267is there a key combination to do this, because i cannot enter the connection center or control panel.
with network connection i only get a blue login screen, no icon’s, mouse works.without network i get desktop , taskbar, ica desktop icon’s, but nothing works, only date, mouse,
March 19, 2008 at 4:02 pm #122692 ways to do.
– start the unit and press “g” while you see the flying penguin repeatedly
or
– after booting the unit press the power switch. On the shutdown dialog select “Reset to factory default”March 20, 2008 at 8:04 am #12280thanks for the tips, but no luck, i will sent the s50 to wyse.
i don’t dare to try another s50 to update to 6.4.
March 20, 2008 at 8:34 am #12281Why do you send it to Wyse? Reflash it using WSI it the easiest and fastest way.

March 27, 2008 at 9:15 am #12334found the problem, while upgrading, looks like the bios version is to old to upgrade, frimware can be upgraded, but not the bios.
how can i update the bios driver firts?
March 30, 2008 at 12:16 pm #12368If you are updating the unit via WDM or WSI and use a .i2d file it will autoupgrade the BIOS on the fly.
