    Hi all,

hoping someone has the answer to this, as it’s a pain in the backside. 😀

We have Wyse terminals (v30L, s30, 3125se etc) at each site they are plugged into a small switch with a network printer, the user then connects via Rdp to our terminal server.

We have a separate printer server, so the local printer is added onto the wyse terminal using the share name etc from our printer server etc, all fine so far.

This is where the problems begin, if a user connects to the terminal server via rdp, logs in (AD logon) and then tries to print a CE network logon box appears 😕 Put their details in and it will print, but once the terminal is rebooted all information is lost and the box will appear again.

Has anyone got any ideas on disabling this logon box? Is this a known issue? Any ideas?

    Thanks all

    Hi,

I haven’t played around with SMB printing on CE but for me it sounds obvious that the user has to authenticate twice. One is for the RDP session and the other for the local CE printing mechanism.
There is only one way I can think of that could help here.
Install the CE LDAP addon. This will allow you to directly authenticate yourself against a LDAP directory like AD, thus eliminating all further authentications.
As already stated above, I have never tried it myself but it should work.

Hi and thanks for the reply,

out of interest, where do you download the addon? I’ve looked on the wyse site for each of the terminal types and i can’t see it
