I keep running into issues with this new FW. Now we realized there seems to be a pretty noticeable performance hit after upgrading to firmware 1.6. The users could demonstrate that just typing in any application there was a pretty bad lag between their keystrokes and what is displaying on the screen. As soon as I downgraded the Xenith’s back to 1.5, everything went back to normal.
I tried to look through any of the newer options for 1.6, but nothing seemed to make a difference.
I have put a ticket in with WYSE, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
This was finally resolved with WYSE support. There is a buffer issue that the 1.6 firmware seems to have, and adding this line to the xen.ini config resolved the issue:
MouseQueueTimer=0
Case closed.
Sorry, that is not the complete config line, you need the whole parameter.
SessionConfig=ALL MouseQueueTimer=0
BTW, I realized later that the MouseQueueTimer option didn’t fix this issue. After a week or so with another open ticket with WYSE they agreed that this is a bug in the 1.6 firmware. This affects both the standard Xenith units and the Pro units.
They gave me a beta version of the 1.7 firmware that did finally resolve this issue.
