Thin Client S90 w/ XPe is not like any PC I have used on previous projects. I am an EE trying to use these for Operator interfaces. I am trying to create a boot USB Stick and use it for boot and databases larger than will fit on the Thin Client. There seem to be no simple user guides and I have no IT guy to help me so I am hoping someone could just point me in the right direction to get this done. I need to:
1. Create a bootable USB. I can use any number of utilities to make a USB bootable. I have used the HP utility before. Should I start there?
2. format it with the correct windows XPe to properly boot. Now for this part I am at a loss but if there exists a guide somewhere I could follow, that would be great.I am not in need of any hand-holding, just to be pointed in the right direction. I am a quick learn.
Thanks…

23. May 2012 at 1:31 #22389I want to add .net 3.5 and that alone would overrun the available onboard flash. I have some small S90’s that I can use on this project for free and so not take a hit to my budget for new Thin Clients with bigger flash. I am being cheap and trying to actually make a profit on this job.

This may be too late, but maybe it is still useful.
If it is the S90″L” (has “L” at end of product number), the flash is standard horizontal 44 pin module, available everywhere, including eBay. You should be able to find 1 and 2 GB modules readily, even larger with some looking. Same is true for RAM upgradeability, standard SODIMM.
This does not hold for the pre-“L” S90 models.ETA: I get confused over the use and significance of the “L” suffix in product numbers on the various Wyse lines. I think what I said is correct for the S90, but quickest way to confirm is to open it up and look at the modules.
