More networking help

if i run a cable from my broadband modem directly to the thin client and set my network settings as automatic configurationauto assign ipdnsdhcp etc (on the client network control panel) will my ISP automatically assign the addresses as it does on my PC, will i be able to get a direct internet connection this way?

as would like to use my client as an internet kiosk, others in my family use the pc and they cant if im using the RDP connection upstairs through the client, i would like to be able to at least use the internet without the RDP to prevent this sharing dispute!
