I am trying to use the MAC Generator to create ini files for each thin client on my network. I keep getting a login failed for the user ‘rapport’ error. I have tried using the custom database password and making sure I used the password I gave the local rapport account on the server WDM resides on but it will not work.

I guess you are running WDM 5, aren’t you?
During the installation you had to enter two passwords. The first one is for the DB account, the second one for the local rapport user.
In MacGen you have to use the first one for the DB account.

yes I am using 5.0. I am pretty sure I used the same password. where could I be able to change that password if I am wrong?

I was able to get a export of all my thin clients to a excel spreadsheet and used a vbscript to create all blank ini files named the mac address of each thin client.

    Thank you for the help.

How did you do the export?
Can you connect to the DB via ODBC? That way you could verify the password.

I did a device listing report then exported the list to a Text file (Tab Delimited) and opened that in Excel and created a new spreadsheet with just the MAC address row, then used a VBscript to creat a .ini file for each row in the spreadsheet.

    Have you tried via ODBC?
