    Hello everyone,

since upgrading to ThinOS 9, we are having issues with an invisible mouse pointer (i-beam) in Citrix double hop scenarios. In the second hop, you don’t see the i-beam in applications like Notepad or Word.

This worked fine in ThinOS 8, so I opened a ticket with Dell. But they told me they don’t support double hops.

As we are seeing the same problems on other Linux Clients, I also opened a ticket with Citrix. But I’m a little bit confused about Dell’s statement.

Does anyone see the same issue?

    Kind regards,

    Tim

What do you mean by double hop? You’re connecting a XenDesktop session and inside that desktop session you’re launching another XenDesktop or XenApp session?

I remember an issue a while back in an early version of 8.6 where doing that scenario caused you to lose the mouse pointer in the XenApp or XenDesktop session inside the first session.

If you can reproduce it in Citrix Workspace for Linux it’s likely a Citrix issue. Dells statement likely means it’s not a scenario they build and test for, if I’m understanding what you mean by double hop.

Do you really lose the cursor or is it not well shown?
There is a known issue with the Linux based CWA that the cursor is shown in a pixeled way.
Dell is going to change this default behavior in one of the next releases.

Try this with Windows WorkSpace App inside the desktop session
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Citrix\ICA client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\Thinwire3.0
    Create a REG_SZ ConvertMonoCursorToColor
Add this registry and set to 0

    Thanks, CG! That’s working fine.
