    Hi all Wyse people,

Does anyone know how i install a wyse device manager repository server? I have the enterprise license and is able to add a repository, when i try to add a repository i get a message telling me that i have to use the WDM cd to install the required repository software on the repository server. Should i proceed the same way as i would with a normal wyse device manager installation?

I can’t find any documentation on this subject, please help me 🙂

    Two ways to do that:
    1. Install WDM on the new repository server, enter the Enterprise license during the setup, point the install to the existing DB and just select SW repository to install. This is the highly recommended way.
    2. Create a FTP/HTTP server on your new repository server (webdav for http). Configure all permissions correctly. Add that SW rep in your WDM console under Configuration Manager-SW Repository.
Sounds faster than option#1 but would more like faile due to permission issues.

    Thank you.

When i do the installation i am unable to connect to the database, is there any special settings i need to set?

The database is in multi user mode, the username and password is correct, the firewall is disabled and the new server can communicate with the old WDM server…

    Any ideas?

Now i was able to add the repository and it’s in my software repositories list.
But when i do a connection test i got failed on both FTP and HTTP, disabling the firewall resolved this but that’s not a good solution, what is the FTP port used? i have opened only port 80, 21 and 443.

the HTTP fails with the following error:
