    I have an hp 1320 connected to my s10 with usb.
    The wyse starts an ica and logs onto citrix fine.
    But I cannot see my local printer.
    In wnos I added this lines:

    DefaultPrinter=LPT1
    Printer=LPT1 Name=”HP Laserjet 1320″ PrinterID=”HP Laserjet 1320″ enabled=yes
    ThinPrintEnable=yes Port=4000

    Thanks for the help

    Hi,

    this look OK to me. What happens when you create the printer locally without using the wnos.ini file?

    Ok,
    On the wyse and in the printer setup:
    Ports: lpt1
    Printer name: hp 1320
    Printer id: hp 1320
    Printer Class: Pcl5
    Enable the printer device: checked

    When I did a print test from the printer setup screen it worked, bunch of numbers not the usual windows test page, but I guess that is the way it suppose to work.

    In the options of the Ica, I have Auto-connect to local devices checked.

    Make sure the printer name is exactly the same as it is named inside Windows.

    I forgot to mention that even created locally and printed a test page from the client, when logged onto ica, it doesn’t show up in my printers’ list.

    That’s the “normal” behaviour if the printer name is not correct.
    Check the spelling on the server and client.
    Of course, you have to install the printer on the server or a XP machine to check the name there.

    You mean that I have to install it on the Citrix server and get the name or just install it on any machine to just see what’s the name is?

    Thank you for your patience. New monkey is clumsy.

    Yes, install it on the server and verify the name. Use that name for local printer name on the thin client.

    Done but no success.
    Did I have to share it on the server maybe?

    No.
    What’s the name and your new wnos.ini setting?

    I changed printers in the meantime.
    So the printer name is: Dell Laser Printer 1700.

    This is the wnos setting:L
    DefaultPrinter=LPT1
    Printer=LPT1 Name=”Dell Laser Printer 1700″ PrinterID=”Dell Laser Printer 1700″ enabled=yes
    ThinPrintEnable=yes Port=4000

    OK, no problem.
    Let’s try this. Leave the Dell printer attached. Change the wnos.ini to:
    DefaultPrinter=LPT1
    Printer=LPT1 Name=”HP LaserJet 5″ PrinterID=”HP LaserJet 5″ enabled=yes
    ThinPrintEnable=yes Port=4000

    Try to print now. First locally, then inside the session.
    If this works, you’ll know for sure it is a naming issue.

    It did print after I changed the wnos settings to:
    DefaultPrinter=LPT1
    Printer=LPT1 Name=”HP LaserJet 5″ PrinterID=”HP LaserJet 5″ enabled=yes
    ThinPrintEnable=yes Port=4000

    PERFECT. Now either leave it as it is or look for the correct name of the printer on your server and adjust your wnos.ini accordingly.

    Bye
